DREAMSHIP!

Big, big announcement Monday! The Adirondack Balloon Festival is proud to announce that we will be welcoming the DREAMSHIP Balloon to the 2017 festival! The balloon was created by Folds of Honor with support of the Rite Aid Foundation. Folds of Honor is a not-for-profit organization which honors the nation’s fallen and disabled service members and their families. Funds raised by the organization is used to fund scholarships for the spouses and children of our fallen heroes.

The balloon was born in late 2016. The fabric of the balloon showcases artwork created by Folds of Honor scholarship recipients, symbolizing their hopes and dreams for the future. It stands over 8 stories high and features 130 unique drawings or dreams.

The new balloon will arrive in time to participate in this year’s opening ceremonies on Thursday, September 21, 2017 beginning at 4pm. Weather permitting, the balloon will offer tether rides (proceeds to benefit their scholarship fund) both Thursday and Sunday evening, and do free flights during the rest of the weekend.
