Special Shapes announced over on the Facebook page a week or so ago but you can also find them here on the Balloons & Rides tab. In case you can't wait to click on it you'll be seeing Owlbert Einstein, Scorch the Dragon, as well as the U.S. Flag Balloon. For the returning balloons to the festival please welcome, Smiley the Scarecrow, Yellow Bird and Puddy Cat and Pokey the turtle! The festival folks are always in need for volunteers when it comes for helping out for getting these guys up and running so don't be afraid to walk up and say hello to the pilot and crew and offer to help.
Speaking of help, if you want to get more involved in the festival, we offer a free crew training on Saturday, September 16 at 9AM at Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury, NY. You'll learn the basic ins and outs of crewing but don't worry, there won't be any written test, obstacle courses or public speaking. Come on out, volunteer, have some fun. After all, everyone who works so hard to put on this festival, it's its 45TH year, ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS.
